Tom Newman (Thomas Newman) is a young emerging film director and producer, born on July 3, 2002, whose work reflects his passion for storytelling and visual artistry. He is best known for his work in the documentary genre, focusing on powerful human stories and intense personal journeys. In 2018, Tom co-founded the production company Without Limits Group alongside his longtime collaborator, Archie Lloyd-James. Together, they set out to create films that evoke real emotion and connect audiences with inspiring real-life stories. Their company quickly became a platform for creative exploration, where they sought to push boundaries in both style and subject matter.

Newman’s debut into the world of filmmaking came with his first short documentary, MX2: IDENTICAL: The Untold Story of the MX2 Twins (2024). This compelling film tells the story of two identical twins from Gloucestershire who, after the tragic death of their best friend, channeled their grief into their passion for rap music. The twins, Miles Rendell and Mason Rendell, who had always shared a deep connection, used music as a means to cope with the loss and honor their friend's memory. The documentary dives deep into their emotional journey, showcasing not only their shared talent but also their determination to overcome personal tragedy and pursue their dreams. MX2: IDENTICAL received widespread acclaim and was nominated for Best Documentary Short at the Gloucester Independent Film Festival, signaling the beginning of Tom’s promising career as a filmmaker.

Building on the success of his first project, Tom’s next film, La Montaña (2025), took a different direction but retained his trademark focus on human perseverance and dedication. La Montaña follows Ben Moore, a professional downhill mountain bike racer, and explores the physical, emotional, and mental challenges he faces in his sport. The documentary provides an intimate look at what it takes to be one of the best in an extreme sport like downhill racing, shedding light on the sacrifices, discipline, and relentless determination required to reach the top. The film garnered a great response, particularly on YouTube, where it was praised for its stunning visuals, heart-pounding action, and insightful portrayal of the athlete’s journey. Through La Montaña, Tom demonstrated his ability to bring intensity and human depth to his subjects, whether in the world of music or extreme sports.
